GUNS FOR SAN SEBASTIAN

Mexico 1746. Rebel Leon Alastray masquerading as a priest helps a peasant village to fight marauding Indians. He builds a dam to irrigate the crops, teaches the peasants to shoot, and finally leads them to victory.

An excellent two-reeler, and one that had little coverage when released on 8mm 2 or 3 years ago. The editing is fine apart from a rushed ending.

The Animex print is very good indeed with sharp focus, good clean colour, and excellent sound.

Director Henri Verneuil excels with the magnificent landscapes and spectacular action, of which there is plenty. Quinn and Bronson (the villain) dominate this 2 reeler, nobody else getting a look in.

Ennio Morricone's catchy theme completes the entertainment. An excellent 'scope item. .
