Not much one can say about the content of this release as it consists of just one big production number from the popular musical "Hello Dolly" starring Barbara Streisand. This "Before The Big Parade" item is big, brash and noisy, and that's just Streisand! Added to this are any number of bands, dancers singers and crowd extra's on what is described as one of the largest sets ever constructed for a musical -every inch of which seems to be crammed with people and music. And this release has sections of the opening and closing titles included, neatly rounding it off, it can truly be described as a 'package' movie: a small package perhaps, but one that packs a mighty hefty punch.
The print is crisp and sharp: the colour on our copy has real guts with nice bright reds etc. The sound (stereo version) is certainly among the best I've heard from Derann who claim it to be 'the best stereo sound on 8mmt: well while 1 wouldn't go quite that far they certainly can be very proud Indeed with the results. It certainly is the best commercial 8mm stereo sound so far, certainly better than any previous Derann release, with the best stereo separation Derann have ever achieved -you'll be in no doubt that you're listening to stereo with this release believe me. Despite our copy having a lower recording level than other current review items the quality of the sound was excellent, well capable of being banged out loud - and 1 mean loud, without showing much signs of distress, except to other occupants of the Wilton household perhaps. Super 'Scope demo item. Highly recommended.
