Billy Casper lies, cheats and steals. He's a boy who doesn't give a damn for anyone, but he cares for "Kes", a kestrel he steals from the nest and rears. The story of a young lad, fit only for t' pits, "KES" - filmed entimly on location in Yorkshire. This heartwarming but sad film stars David Bradley, a young Bamsley schoolboy, as Billy. His clasmates and teachers also appear in the film, the work of Tony Garnett and Kenneth Loach. "KES', which was acclaimed by the critics as a masterpiiece, won the  Grand Prix at the Czech Film Festival.
