Mighty Joe Young, a 12ft. high gorilla, has been brought back from Africa to America as part of a night club act where he is forced to perform acts on stage.

In his cell after the show he is teased by some drunks and breaks loose wreaking the night club. Sentenced to be shot he is rescued by his friends before the police arrive.

After a brief section of the original main title we are plunged straight into the nightclub sequence containing some excellent animation from Willis 0' Brien (creator of King Kong) and Ray Harryhausen (his first film with O'Brien). The copy reviewed is printed slightly off centre to the right and the sound appears to be out of sync during par t of the nightclub destruction sequence.

However, very good value for model animation buffs at the low asking price.

Footnote. Mountain tell us that all the prints of this film have now been sold and they do not plan to re-print, one more film to hunt out on the second hand sales lists, or perhaps you have one that you wish to sell, please contact us if you have.
