Two trailers on one reel - the first, "Unconquered", introduced and narrated by Cecil B himself. The Film starred Gary Cooper, Paulette Goddard and Boris Karloff and was set in 18th-century America.
At the time of its release it was described as 'A five-million dollar celebration of Gary Cooper's virility, Paulette Goddard's femininity, and the American frontier spirit', other reviews were less complimentary! However, don't let that put you off, the trailer is excellent, and crammed with action, and I'm a sucker for de Mille's sermons.
For Whom The Bell Tolls features a cast selected by Ernest Hemingway himself! Well that's what is claimed in this excellent trailer for a style of film-making long since gone.
Gary Cooper starred (again) with the lovely Ingrid Bergman as his leading lady. Cooper playing the role of an American who joins the partisan fighters during the Spanish Civil War.
This is an attractive trailer with a nice period style. Both trailers are of very good quality, with a little wear on the master evident, but more than made up for by the nice colour, sharp definition, and superb sound. Recommended. KW. Print A* Sound A
