CLEAN PASTURES

When Saint Peter, seeing the sinful Harlem nightlife is attracting more business to "Hades, Inc" than his own "Pair 0' Dise", he sends an agent to r'f I I I I ecti -Vthe situation. but with little success.

A hep group of angels is then dispatched to the club *Pair 0' Dice" and there they perform to cartoon look-a-likes of Cab CallowaN, Bill Boiangles Robinson. Al Jolson. Fats Waller, the Mills Brothers and Louis Armstrong.

Soon heaven is full of swingers, including *old Nick' him self.

This 1937 Warner Bros release, a pastiche of the Warner's own 1936 "Green pastures", and now sporting the later AAP logo, is a bit dupy with somewhat limited colour - this how- ever is more than compensated by the musical content and the cheeky characterisations. . K.W.
