Two B&W trailers from the popular "Carry On" series complete with a couple of early B&W Odeon daysets.
The two trailers, masked for Widescreen are: "Carry On Regardless" and "Carry On Teacher". Both are actually quite good fun with the first having it's usual quota of scantily dressed buxom females. Also seen are: Sid James, Kenneth Conner, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Bill Owen, Liz Frazer, Terence Longden, Kenneth Willliams (quite an amusing bit with him and monkey trying to hire a taxi and Fenella Fielding.
The second trailer, which carries a "U" certificate, includes many of the regular team listed above plus Leslie Phillips, Hattie Jacques, Rosalind Knight, and Ted Ray. The closing caption is "Don't Play Truant From This One!". Good advice - this is an entertaining little reel (and I'm by no means a Carry On fan) that has a fair quota of laughs, and more interestingly perhaps, is a virtual roll call of British comedy stars.
The print is quite reasonable and for once, almost achieving near B&W tones on the colour stock of our review copy. The best non-blockbuster trailer reel in ages. Timeless. Recommended.
