Opening with a vintage B&W ABC "Sunday And All Week" day-set this Hammer-horror trailer reel includes "The Gorgon" and "The Vengeance of She". The "Gorgon" opens with and X- certificate, and, valiantly acting against lurid red captions like "No one looked upon her face and lived! " is Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Richard Pasco and Barbara Shelley, though what chance do mere mortals have against "The Gorgon returns and wreaks her hideous vengeance"?
John Richardson and Glinka Berona (yep, that's what I said) have a slightly better time of it in the trailer for "The Vengeance of She" - they only have to combat the narrator with lines like: " She is back to haunt the living and revenge the dead!" Yeh, well, we all have our problems, darling.
The reel closes with an ABC "Also Of Course Pathe News" B &W dayset.
The quality of the two trailers is very good with excellent colour, definition and sound, though the were some extraneous clicking and banging on the soundtrack at times that all adds to the spooky atmosphere I suppose. A treat for Hammer fans.
