Although the final film of the three on this reel is Science Fiction, Derann have sensibly linked these three trailers together because the emphasis in all these films is on hard action. And none comes harder or tougher than "Die Hard" starring Bruce Willis.
The trailer is the same fine mixture of action and humour that made the film itself so enjoyable. I had a ball watching it in the cinema and again on video and it seems to me that the sequel was equally enjoyable.
The reviews in "Time Out" put Scwarzenegger's "Total Recall" ahead of. Die Hard 2 but I'm afraid much as I liked the invention of the first film Arnie does nothing for me and I kept imagining how much more enjoyable I would have found it if Bruce Willis had played the lead.
We get a brief chance to see the billion-dollar hulk again in the trailer for "Commando". It is little more than a teaser and certainly the shortest trailer on this reel but again it does its job well and in the short time it plays makes you at least toy with the idea of renting it out on video.
With "Alien" we are back in the world of M.W.T.C. (Movies with a Touch of Class) and the trailer reflects this perfectly. A slow opening as the camera rushes across the surface of an alien planet while the electronic soundtrack rises to a scream is followed by a rapid succession of action shots from the film itself finishing with a beautiful long shot of the planet and the film's slogan. "in Space no-one can hear you scream." Sterling stuff.
Buy either of these reels and you wont be disappointed. Better still buy both and treat yourself to over nine minutes of fast moving action.
