FOX BACKLOT & REVENGE OF THE JEDI.

No, this is not the much requested, stereo-scope Jef Films Trailer. which has just arrived in time for review, but a version from another American distributor.
The first item on the reel is the b/w footage of the Fox backlot, taken from the air.

This is introduced by a Fox spokesman reading an idiot board off camera, in his office, surrounded by scripts and maps of the Fox studio.

From the air we see the various technical depts. and several sets, including the one used in "The King And I", not that you will recognize it, or anything else mentioned.

The Fox logo starts off this item, with a caption announcing it as a CinemaScope special presentation.

Don't know why, its very interesting, but not very well produced. The spokesman is hopeless and the air footage a bit dull. Future versions of this, are I understand, to be printed on colour stock with possibly better definition, which though adequate could be better.

The review print was marred by drop-outs on the sound. R/T of this item is 3.4 mins.

Quite an interesting, item.

The Jedi trailer, on colour stock of course, is once again a montage of shots with amuse track. As each character is introduced by a still frame that then expands out into a brief scene the narrator waxes lyrical.

Good colour, and reasonable definition. Good sound. This trailer looks as though it was produced some time before the release of the film.
