This trailer has some great clips from the film and besides Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee we get to see Yvonne Furneaux acting her little heart out and that grand old-timer, Felix Ayimer - this surely must have been at the very end of his illustrious career. There are the usual screaming Hammer headlines vying for the 'rabid caption of the year' award: "Hammer Now Bring You Another Man Turned Monster"; "Guardian Of The Dead" and "Terror Of The Living" (much like a certain reviewers lot I know)!
In the 1962 Hammer remake of Phantom of the Opera, the line up of stars is as follows: Herbert Lom, Edward de Souza, Heather Sears, Thorley Walters, Michael Gough, lan Wilson, Martin Miller, John Harvey and Miriam Karlin. No great captions here, just some over-the-top narration: "They have no right to love and happiness, for this beautiful young girl is tangled in a web of terror!" "The Phantom of the Opera a hideous echo of a night of agony and horror!". Quite.
Nice sharp print with pretty good colour that looks like its come from a IB Technicolor master. Pretty good sound on our review copy. The reel ends with a very useful Intermission logo.
