The young fox cub (Tod), and the hound (Copper) are now grown up and are no longer 'close friends. Tod and his mate are in the woods one day when they come across Copper and his master being attacked by a huge bear.
Copper and the man are knocked down by the furious bear so Tod springs to their defence, and a savage fight develops between Tod, and the bear, with Copper attacking from the other side as well.
The bear and Tod continue to fight and find themselves on a log above a river, and its not long before they fall down into the swirling waters below. Tod, exhausted climbs from the river to find the hunter with his gun pointed at his head, and he is only saved by Copper who stands in front of him, pleading with his master for his life.
This is a great follow on to 'The Best Of Friends (reviewed in No.3), and should edit on without too much trouble.
The content is excellent, and a 'must' for any Disney collector. Its beautifully drawn and animated, the bear is particularly good, very savage, and very real, and the river scenes are very good too as water is very difficult to animate successfully, if the rest of the full feature is up to the standard and content of these two extracts then it should be very successful indeed, in the meantime I can highly recommend this reel, and if you can't afford both extracts, then the second is the better of the two, containing as it does the 'climax' of the film..
The print quality is very good indeed, with excellent colour, definition and sound, this review print being slightly sharper than the first extract 'The Best Of Friends'.
